Beaches Resorts is launching new fitness classes for kids at its resorts in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos. Kids can now participate in yoga, water aerobics and boot camp classes, including:
- Kids Yoga– The classes will explore breathing exercises, visual imagery and relaxation techniques while conveying lessons in self-expression, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness. Physically, the class will enhance kids’ flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation will improve. Doing yoga, children exercise, play and connect more deeply with the inner self, bringing that amazing inner light that all children have to the surface. The classes will be taught by qualified yoga instructors and tailored to age and ability. As Beaches Resorts understands how important family time is, parents will also be encouraged to join in the fun with their little yogis.
- Splish-Splash– This water aerobics class will offer intensive physical stimulation for children. Kids will have fun splashing in the water, while still receiving cardiovascular activity.
- Kids Boot Camp– A high energy fun-filled exercise class for kids, this class strives to increase the overall health and fitness level of children in a fun, safe and motivating environment by utilizing obstacle courses, fitness games, partner activities, body weight exercises, circuits and more. It creates an environment where children associate fitness with fun. Positive association with fitness at an early age can lead to healthy adult living habits for life.
The classes are for ages three and over and last from 30-45 minutes depending on the age group. All classes will be taught by CPR certified fitness professionals. The instructors have been certified by FitBodies Inc. and Vanessa Kahlon, MA Executive Director & Founder of Kahlonfamilyservices.com and YEASYoga.com.
